Here is a little history about TruGrit Bullmastiffs
I purchased my first Bullmastiff in May of 1974, she was full sister to Ch.
Stonykills Naughty Angelina, who was sired by Ch. Pocantico's Plameses Bruno
who was my first love. I was born and raised in New York City and I feel I was
very fortunate to grow up around some of the best breeders in the country. I met
Dick Cannone who became my mentor and one of my best friends. I went on to
register my first litter in the early eighties and based my breeding program
around BIS Ch. Roleki's Sampson Of Waterbury ROM who was one of the first

Bullmastiffs to win a Best In Show.
Another of my all time favorite dogs was Ch.
Charley Hexam bred by Marge Triggs. Both of these dogs had strong
Pocantico
bloodlines.
From Left to Right BIS Ch Roleki's Sampson Of Waterbury ROM, Ch.
Badnuffs Warrior of Tru Grit, Ch.Ladybug's Badnuffs Natasha.
My first dog Mac, winning reserve winners

Show at Madison Square Garden.
One of our prouder moments when Ch.
Banuffs Warrior of Tru Grit won the 8-10
year veteran class at the 1992 ABA National
Specialty
More than just a pretty face my wife Diane
of 3
1 years has been the stabilizing force
in my breeding program and has been
with me since my first dog.
Here I am judging the Bullmastiff Specialty
sweepsstakes at The Kennel Club of
Philadelphia in 2001.
Dick Cannone was not only my mentor in breeding bullmastiffs,
but also a mentor in life.

Her father in law was the gameskeeper on the
Rockefeller estates, who imported the first
bullmastiffs to the US.

knowledgeable bullmastiff people in th world
today and I'm happy to call her my friend.

Keith Driver and I have been great friends for over 20 years and  not many
weekends go by that we don't talk. I respect his honesty and bullmastiff
knowledge. That is why I nick named him the Breed Warden.
Adele Pfenninger judging a fun match Nov.1975 in
Rockland Co. NY. Best adult in match was Lord Nelson
bred and handled by Dick Cannone. I was very fortunate
to have  these  two great breeders as my mentors.
